Guys/Gals,
A friend of a friend of a friend requires some help on a few JAR questions, any input gratefully accepted.
I am completely stumped on the fibre optic stuff.

1. How do you prevent HIRF entering a fibre optic?
(a) optoinsulator
(b) enclose in a metal sheath
(c) ground fibre at both ends

2. If the Flight Director bars move up in slow increments, what controls their rate?
(a) instrument feedback
(b) amplifier gain

3. When does a FDR on a helicopter start recording?
(a) power on
(b) engine start up
(c) take off

4. What limits the number of components that can be connected to ARINC 429?

5. Inputs to a Flight Recorder can be taken from position indicating inputs (EFIS) only if....?

6. In a Flight Director how are small deviations corrected?

7. Two fibre optic cables are arranged in with the ends in parallel and close proximity, the signal is transmitted by
(a) end fire coupling
(b) end to end coupling
(c) lens coupling

8. To ensure no EMC problems with a fibre optic
(a) earth both ends of the fibre optic cable transducers
(b) sheath the fibre optic cables with a wire braid
(c) use opto-isolators

9. A flight recorder can use aircraft instrument data provided
(a) the source can be isolated
(b) it is connected directly to the flight data recorder
(c) ?
