Gulf Air to start Johannesburg direct from Bahrain Dec 2nd, 2005. The GF route expansion continues...Good news for them!

Lots of Bokkie's and Springbok's will be happy campers at the Braai's this weekend knowing there are direct flights to and from JoBurg and rest of the other "Land Down Under" from The Sandbox real soon.

Cheers,
R.D.

Fantastic, from 2nd Dec, according to ad in GDN to JNB from 2nd DEC. 3 times a week. Crews will love the 48 hr stay. On 340 I believe!!!!

I have been told it is an A330 service.

No, I think 340 due no Etops on GF 330's. Mind you, there is a non Etops route, on the sector to NBO. From there, the routing can be over Lilongwe (Malawi) and over Harare( Zimbabwe). Good long runways, with adequate facilities, both of them. i.e. ILS. Bit longer perhaps, but Etops not required, if we go that route. If Etops is a problem, then the 767 should do it. Boy, that would be good. Inshallah !!!!

It'll be 330's. Tic has the "RUMOUR" about correct about the non-ETOPS route mentioned.

By the way - if any of you are headed to JNB, try The Carnivore restaurant... they have LEKKER Kudu steaks!

:p :ok:
