Ok, any budding shop stewards, i need your advice, i'm working full time in LHR in an outstation with 5 others and a manager:
1: it takes up to 1 year to get overtime paid
2: the manager keeps screwing with the roster with minimal notice
3: the roster is worked around the a/c scheds, it's a regular occurrance we may work less than 37.5 hours per week (see item 2) when this happens he subtracts any hours short from comp. time we have accrued. We are salaried workers.

Any ideas of suggestions would be welcome!

A manager once said to me,years ago:
"If you dont like it leave"
and couldn't understand it when I did!!!
Never looked back either.....
I certainly wouldn't(couldn't)wait a year for ot payment.

Check your contract, what does that say, OTE, reasonable notice of shift changes etc,
If not you're ion trouble.
Talk to the manager first if no good, speak with your counterparts, a united front is the only way to sort something in a small outport. What does head office say.
Failing all that join the ALAE if in th UK and you WILL get legal help, http://www.lae.mcmail.com

Don't put up with it, there are too many well paid decent jobs out there to have to work for that kind of company. Time to buy a copy of flight!!

I dearly hope that I don`t ever have to work this regime.

remember you work for money not for the boss to make money for the company.

(Mrs Hippy operates the same working regime, with no pay!! )

I know my company has its faults but I would recommend you drop them a line at luton or Manchester.
