Hello,

After a search through the forums, I was wandering wether there's any recent information about the AQC. I will start the 22th of August and I am preparing myself thoroughly. Flying the Sim, reading "Handling the Big Jets", reading theory etc. Does anyone have any tips for further preparation?

Thanks,

Maybe talk to the instructors at CTC Bournemouth? I'm sure they'd appreciate a beer!

Hi, Congratulations!

I have sent you a private message with a few questions about CTC selection process, I am now converting to JAA and next year I'll apply for AQC too!!

Thanks, Pedro

Best preparation you can do is to go through the pre-course info they send you, particularly the following profiles:

Takeoff and Climb
Standard ILS (both 2 and single-engine)
Non-Precision Approach
Engine Failure on Takeoff and at altitude.

with particular regard to pitch + power settings for each;

as well as the 'SOP' which is based largely on easyJet.

Don't worry about getting bogged down in the technical stuff or reading too many textbooks, they are not assessing your systems knowledge of a 737 - that's what the type rating is for!

Hope this helps.
