It won't wake up!

I have set my machine to go to stand-by after 1hr. By just a small movement on the mouse it instantly wakes up, done it for years. At least it did. Now it will not do so and I have to reset it.

Any ideas anyone?

Have you tried (I'm sure you have) waking it up with the keyboard (space bar) or half-depressing the on/off button (last one works with Dell equipment).
