Here is a topic I would be interested to find your opinions on.
what does your company pay you when you are away from base looking after an aircraft?. My company pay us only what we have bills for up to the allowed daily amount (hotel is normally paid). Flt crew inc cabin crew on the other hand get X £/day to spend as they like (on food, beer or shopping)we have to produce recipts for all meals, drinks etc while away.
If your based with a crew it makes you feel somwhat inferior to the rest of the gang who can spend as much as they want at the bar (on beer of food) without so much as a recipt in sight.why are engineers treated different to the other lot, after all its the same company we are all working to make the same profits.

A maintenance service provider pays her staff fixed amount all-inclusive (excluding hotel accommodation) depending on destinations.

Japan, which with the highest pay, at around US$ 76. Taiwan at around US$ 56.

The staff have to pay all the meals and no receipt of any kind required.

It appears that the shell suits have different rules for the workers and the resters. Best we rest up ourselves for a while until they sort it out!

We had a good one last summer. Hangar staff went to outstations who, as uasual were understaffed during the summer. This time, after much negotiation, those lucky ones who got to go away were on full expenses instead of the little sweetener that had been the norm for the last couple of years. Truns out that this year we blew the budget by July and a few lads were brought back to the fold. Thing is, aircrew and cabin staff ger full expenses as the norm. but when it comes to the crunch, it seems that us donkey greasers are too expensive!
