I have been messing around with my computer cleaning up the hard disk and can no longer get on secure sites. I have tried system restore ( but I cannot get far enough into the past) also the usual things on Internet Options-advanced-security.
Can anyone help as I cannot get to my bank account!!

What error message is displayed when you try to access secure sites? Is it just addresses that start with https:// ?
If you click Help, About Internet Explorwer, what level of cipher/encryption is reported (eg 0bit/128 bit etc.)?
You don't happen to own a SafeCom/Conexant chipset based modem/router do you?
I did have the 128 encription. I sorted it out by reinstalling XP. and no I don't have the modem but thanks for your suggestions.
