Given the enormous demand between the UK and ZA, I think that they will do well with indirect pax, as much as their own.

Interestingly, another thread (on the Routes forum) suggests that they have found an ex-LX/SR A332. Presumably, they'd prefer the QF aircraft, given that they have similar engines. Pity QF never knew how to get the best out of them, but their loss ...

As for long haul, still waiting for revised US bilateral. Contrary to what's generally believed (that we have to wait for EU/US open skies), govt has some wriggle room to negotiate a new deal. Whether they will want to is another thing. (I suspect they want to wait for EU/US open skies so they can say to SNN lobby : "we had no choice".)

Any timescale on this Shamjet?

Definitely no LX/SR A330. Don't think SIN will happen either....

Spare a thought for the Nationwide 767's - it takes 1hr longer on the FAJS - EGKK than a 747 EGLL
