Hey...

Just read a short note today in a newspaper, that a Ryanair 737 had to return to the airport twice due to technical problems. Most passengers didn't embark the third time. The article said it was in Rome and I believe on Saturday.

Just a short article! Does anyone have any infos?

Was the aircraft 738 or 732?

Seems like the 732s have had a lot of snags because they know they are leaving the fleet and are cranky. Then again if MOL didn't try screwing over the 732 crews maybe there wouldn't be 732s there now!

Thanks aerobat.

I almost expected one of these odd "don't believe the press"-answers, but that's how it should be in this forum!

1st turnback - bleed trip.

2nd turnback - gear pins.

So before start checklist was read like this :

gear pins and cover ......... removed

Hope it wasn't an overweight landing.

Gear pins - that was my first guess.

But the airline's sympathetic pilots' union will no doubt look after the chap on the grounds that his employer is obsessed with rapid turnrounds and this led to corner-cutting....and overlooked gear pins?

Are they going to install GEAR PINS for a few hours on the ground???

I remember usually seeing red streamers attached to the gear pins?

...... and an entry into the tech log to say gear pins have been fitted!
