Hallo the chosen many.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to self fly hire an R22 anywhere in Italy on a CAA JAA PPL(H)?
Preferably an Aerodrome in central Italy but any contacts you may have would be great.

I have looked at web sites and the Italian aviation Authority but no joy.

Thanks in advance.

In theory, I don't see why not but any operator would probably want you to do a checkride with them. Best thing would be to contact some schools directly and ask. Sorry don't have any direct contacts.

Cheers

There were a couple of R22 available for hire/training at Urbe, Rome in May this year.
I can only recomend a company called 'ELI FRIULIA Helicopter Service'. They were hoping to set up another training base in Rome (at Urbe). Presently based up North but worth a call +390481778901.
They will put you intouch with the other operators at Urbe Rome if they can't help.

Thanks Whirlygig I've have tried but I can't seem to find any flight schools in Italy. There must be some and there must be someone who knows of them.

Thanks very much Up & Away, that is my first tangible lead.
I will give them a call and see if they can help.
