Aircraft skids off runway in Lagos

There was a heavy downpour over the last couple of hours in Lagos and it has been reported that a cargo plane skidded off the runway... a/c reportedly a Tristar

I have a colleague stuck in Accra trying to get back to Lagos. Have FAAN given any idea when it might be cleared away? Awww come on................... they mght have :D

Aircaft now departing 01R and landing 19L (or 36R and 18L or whatever its called). In an unrelated incident around 0800 local a Trade Winds Cargo 747 blew out a lot of tires on landing. Anybody got any details on that.

Just heard Antrack have cancelled their flight to Lagos from Accra which should have left at 1630utc, pax re booked onto tomorrows flight.

Much disruption to scheds ongoing, so if you are travelling check with your airline.

It's not just disruption in Lagos either. I'm in Douala and flights between here and Nigeria, even Port Harcourt are not running. Mind you, with Bellview, being 3 or 4 hours late is normal anyway :}
