Hi All,
I'm a pilot in the states who is a part owner of a few airplanes. I've got lots of hours turning wrenches on my planes [under supervision for most things] and recently decided to go to night school for the A&P.
Pretty disappointing--seems like a lot of wasted time just to get the magic 1900 hours the FAA requires (if done without school, it's about 4700 hours I believe - 30 months full time work]. Also half the teachers only know Boeings and the other half Cessnas.
Anyway this got me to wondering about the programs and standards for my brothers in the UK. Anyone have any good pointers to websites for UK/AUS/HK etc schools or to JAA licensing regs? Also information about transfer of license would be appreciated -- both JAA and elsewhere (especially as it is looking likely that I'll be spending at least a year or two in HK and also 1 or 2 in Shanghai at some point]
thanks
-me :)
[looking forward to covering some fabric wings for a local museum in class in the next few weeks)
