What sort of approvals can your base maintenance fitters hold. and do they have the right to clear scheduled job cards without a Licenced Guy oversigning them on the individual card ??

Our co is wanting to introduce some thing that seems very weird to us Licenced Engs on the base floor.

also what money do they get paid for doing it .

So in a Nut Shell

Time served Aircraft Tradesman,
NO Licence of any kind.
In Base Maintenance only NOT line.
Regional Airline, not BIG AIRWAYS type place.

What is in place for this man (or woman ) to get on to for certification privilages ??

JAR-145 old chap.

The company can let anybody sign anything so long as: -

(1) They're authorised by the company exposition / handbook.

(2) The CAA has approved said document.

Within the context of JAR-145 (or JAR-21 or BCAR Section A in a manufacturing company) the individual persons qualifications are only relevant insofar as they form PART of the evidence towards the CAA for approval of the exposition.
