A 43-year-old man who suffered injuries in a road accident yesterday died after falling out of a helicopter that was transporting him to the hospital, police have revealed.
The man jumped up from a stretcher in the helicopter and attacked a male nurse before opening the door and falling to the ground from a height of 20m (65ft) near the Polish city of Sosnowiec.
Police spokesman Dariusz Gabrys said medics were unable to revive the man, whose name was not released, and confirmed that the male nurse had suffered a broken leg.
Police are investigating the incident.
