View Full Version : Could any cabin crew help me?
Hi there,
Please help me, its late at night and im desperate! My names John im 17 (18 in April) and am asking if any of you guys/girls eazy or not could tell me if its possible for me to apply for cabin crew before my 18th. Although Ive heard that for U2 its 19 I've read on the site that its 18+. Its doesnt have to be easyjet.
Can you suggest a time when I can apply/should or do I have to wait till I hit 18. Im desperately looking for a Job to start me on my career in Aviation. I aspire to become a pilot and am looking at working for the next 4 years or so to save a little. and gain some valuable experience. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Any tips on the Interview/ Selection process?
I would like to get a job at an airport like STN before hand to get a lil knowledge if you know what I mean. God its l8, im off to bed! Thanks for the reply ezpz.

Hi John,
While you are waiting to be the right age, use the time to make sure you have all the necessary qualifications (for example, first aid, passport, responsible service, and so on)
Do some research on the companies you want to apply for. Find out where they fly, on what aircraft, when they started, etc etc. It will come in handy for interview.
If you haven't worked in a customer service role before, try doing some volunteer work helping people, or maybe at a little kids' play group or something, to show you have 'people contact'. And get someone to help you go over your resume and see the best way to present it.
May sound like a bit of work but it will really help!! (And shows you are keen, too!) Have a bit of a think about why you want to be CC (and not just for travel! :p ) this will give you an idea of what you want to say at interview, and time to prepare a little.

Yeah I will do even tho it wont be for a while. I just want to do it for a few years to pay for a part of my flight training, I want to go to a place in Oxford and need to save the extra 20-30K and get a car too, looks like ill be there for a few more than 4 years. Would a future Airline frown upon the fact that I want to become a Pilot eventually. Its just maybe I could apply with the airline I did the CC with, butild up a good reputation etc!. Any ideas, experience etc welcome!

And if your still in school doing exams between now and then, I suggest you hit the books and concentrate on that more than trying to get with an airline!

At your age, it might be worth looking into a job on the mechanical side. A qualification as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer may make you more hireable as a pilot. Many trainees find positions with operators during their training.
How that fits in with Oxford I don't know, but an aeronautics engineering degree is even better, if you have the necessary brain power and work habits.
That was an option for me but I dont have the qualifications for that. I was looking at a BY/thomfly apprenticeship scheme a few months ago but didnt apply and now its gone!. Thanks for your help guys and girls.
