What's happening at BA these days with punctuality? They are now at the bottom of the list for scheduled airlines in the UK as reported by the latest statistics for the first quarter of 2005 at:

Flightontime.info (http://www.flightontime.info)

Beaten by easyJet, Flybe, bmi, Ryanair, etc.. At least in 2004 they beat bmi! Back in 2001 / 2002 they were way ahead of the pack beating bmi, Flybe, Ryanair, Go, easy, etc...

What's happened?

Not enough ground staff to make the operation work (through a combination of p poor management and sharp practices from the employees). Unrealistic flight and turnaround schedules for flight crew build in delays from the outset. Cabin crew sitting in the CAT lounge while the clock ticks towards their industrial agreement times. Unservicable aircraft add to delays wile the engineers work out how to use the expensive new stores computer. And all this added to operating out of Europes busiest and most overcrowded airport as a main base in airspace that is creaking at the seams.

But it's good to see that British Airways CitiExpress is 3rd on the list :ok:

CM as a loyal servant of BA, your being brutal at the very least. Sadly some of what you script is spot on.
