Can someone explain the maximum currency of a 61.58 check? is it 12 months to the day of the previous sign off, or is it up to 13 months?

For instance, if the 61.58 was completed June 16th 2004, what would the last day of validity be?

June 30th 2005.

If I remember well, you only need a check on type in the preceding 24 calandar months, and a check in the preceding 12 calandar months in any aircraft certificated for more than one crewmember.

To quote FAA FAR 61.58 Section (g)

If a pilot takes the pilot-in-command proficiency check required by this section in the calendar month before or the calendar month after the month in which it is due, the pilot is considered to have taken it in the month in which it was due for the purpose of computing when the next pilot-in-command proficiency check is due.

I read this as you having until the end of July but your next renewal on any type would still be June the following year.

Watch out for insurance requirements though and also IR qualification.
