They're not building an airport for a city named like that are they? How will the departure lounge tannoys announce departures to there? 'See-u-dad Reel' or 'Qui-uu-dad Reel'. I think the right pronunciation is 'Th-yu-dath Ray-al' (but I'm not sure. Hell of a word if you don't know Spanish.

The fairly serious gossip is that Ryanair will open a base at MADRID SOUTH as soon as it opens to compete in the Spanish domestic market

Ciudad Real should be open by 2007

The Ryanair connection with the new airport at Cuidad Real rumour has been around for some time.

The easyJet operation of Spanish internal services from next year, has also reared it's head again in the local press.
