Am I totaly wrong if I say that Coast Air is gone from the market?
Or am I thinking of another company with similar name?

"Totally wrong", I don't know, but they are expanding their fleet and looking for pilots.

BNflyer; perhaps you are thinking about Air Stord? They
went belly-up.

I think start pay for FO's is around 275k nok. There was some extras (you could sell days off etc., but I don't remember all the details).

I went for an interview about 9 months ago, I had a good impression of the company. Ended up turning it down for another offer. Back then they asked me to pay for my own rating, don't know if this has changed.

Did you have to do some psych and sim tests?

The interview was a very standard one. They also gave me a short written test, mostly questions on JAA regs.

They were going to have me do a sim evaluation. But I had the impression that this was only as a precaution to weed out really week candidates. But I might be wrong as I never did the sim...

The hiring process may have changed because they have a new chief pilot now. But again, I'm not sure.

Do you have an interview? PM me for more if you do.

They still require you to pay your own rating. Guess this will change as they also probably face candidate shortage soon. Market is heading up in Norway. Widerĝe is hiring big time, Lufttransport will soon be hiring...

How much pay? and is this also required for DE captains?

I guess paying for own rating is negotiable. Think they prefer if you´re rated, but they don´t state it as a formal requirement on their homepage. Give them a call to find out!:D

Don´t know what the pay is.

Sorry for the confusion with 'pay' I ment how much you would have to pay for your typerating.

Think the rating would be in the range of 13-14.000£. Pretty expensive me thinks, for a light turbo-prop. Maybe stepping up a notch for a 737 rating would be more rewarding, if paying your own rating is an option in the first place.
A tip for the interview; heard they´re madly in love with questions on New PANS-OPS; speeds in different missed app. segments, speed restrictions for cat. B etc.

Hello from Aberdeen.

With Coast Air apparently expanding, does anyone know if there are any plans for them to return to the ABZ scene?

They flew a sch route f/t HAU for a few years with JE31/AT43 then moved it to BGO before having to withdraw due to the competition from WIF.

Still occasionally seen here on charter work, but I miss them from the ABZ scene.

Thanks.

Category B, Knots IAS
Vat 91-120
Range of speeds for initial and intermediate approach 120-180
Range of final approach speeds 85-130
Max speed for circling 135
Max speed for missed approach 150

Yes, those are the figures I thought of. Exactly the numbers my buddy was tested on, and his friend before him again...:)
