What sort of Hours are you guy's doing out there? Is 37.5 hrs (BAe) the norm. Are there any rules/laws stating max Hrs per week or Shift. Is anybody expected to work long shifts with no overtime or TOIL. What about AWN47 3.2.

It depends on who you work for and whether you are a contract Engineer or an employee.
I am contracted to do 37.5hrs per week as an employee. We have certain rules and regulations laid down by the Company and the HKG CAD.
Max amount of continuous days not to exceed 6.
Max shift not to exceed 12Hrs.
This may be extended to 16 hrs in an AOG situation only.

I have on one occasion gone home quoting AWN 47, due fatigued and I declared myself unfit to work. No repercussions. This was prior to the 16hr rule was invoked, this came about as an understanding of Human Factors.
O/T until about a year ago was unpaid, toil.
We now get paid O/T.
Does it work, yes, but sometimes you have to be strong and stand up for yourself, are we less productive - no, must be doing something right with the profit share we've just been rewarded with!
