View Full Version : Good time to start a type-rating course now?

Dear all,

I was wondering...If I decided to pay for a 737 type-rating, would it be 'smart' to start it right now? Beacuse now we're in the middle of the summer season, so all hiring is done. Am I correct in thinking that it's better to start a course later on, so one would be ready before the summer season. Since I'll finish the course with only linetraining, it'll improve the chances of getting hired with low hrs. on type. Demand for pilots is bigger then, the way I see it.

Anyone care to share his/ her opinion?

Gr. Lil'

I am in the same situation, and I have decided to go for it, to be ready for winter 2005-2006.

In worse case, you can still renew your license in the sim.

I wish you ( and to me) good luck!

Don't you think demand for pilots will be bigger for the summer season? Because to renew your license in the sim will be quite expensive me thinks..

Good luck with your type rating-course Spaceman :ok:
(By the way, which type...Bus?)

thank you Lil, I go for the 319-321

yes, in summer the demand is bigger, but view the time it can take to send CV, and to have a list of potential employers, I think you can start anytime your training.
