According to a British survey reported by CNN.

Best overall

1. Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong
2. Qantas Airways, Australia
3. Emirates, Dubai
4. Singapore Airlines, Singapore
5. British Airways, United Kingdom
6. Malaysia Airlines, Malaysia
7. Thai Airways, Thailand
8. Qatar Airways, Qatar
9. Asiana Airlines, South Korea
10. ANA All Nippon Airways, Japan

I'm totally bemused by #2

Of course you are bemused Sunfish - any rational thought you have disappears when Qantas comes into your mind.

So what happened to the American carriers?? Mrats #3? Have they not paid enough this year to get #1? :E

No 2 should be number 8?
Does the word arrogant mean anything.

can't argue about #1, at least from a sitting, eating, drinking, sleeping, watching, on time point of view.......

Based on what??

Safety?

Value for money?

On time?

Service?

Plenty of variables,IMHO.

Well if it was a survey it will have been done to passengers personal experiences and perhaps prejudices.....myself having travelled on all except Number 9 I am bemused by 2,5 and 7! As another poster says depends upon what was being measured..!

I am surprised 2 is there, also very surprised about no1. Everytime I have flown on 1, it was worse than 2! I reckon 4 should be where 1 is. Clearly 9 needs to be subtracted from the equation.

Quod Boy,
You are on the numbers..This is definitely not based on “Airlines to work for" # ! service is gr8, but at the cost of employee satisfaction ( 49 ring a bell, Flight attendant union just won huge court case against company etc. etc. ) The tail is waging the dog. They are saved by the Asian efficiency factor and geological location.............NOT good management!!!!!

Who are the absolute worst carriers? Oh lets pick any American, "lagacy", carriers. We along those lines we could vote for the most , bad hair days for he flight attendants in the states. Oh yea lets not forget that we get that goumet snack box that we can pay for at 3USD. that basicaly gives you raisons, two crackers and a stick of beef jerky.... Jusxt surprised we dont have to pay for white bread and potable water yet.....:yuk:
