How does 12 quid grab you? Just popped into Maplins and Lo! They have USB headsets on special offer. Looked so good I have bought a pair and they ain't half bad, either...

You can scratch up a reference via Google as Maplins have a reasonable website.

I could spend hours in that place....

fat-controller, thanks for the tip - Voipbuster is the mutt's nuts. I know it is only in beta at the moment but, with a son having emigrated to Oz, it is saving me a fortune. Quality isn't bad and what the heck - it is free. (OK, 1 Euro is as near free as you can get.)

I am using a Nokia Bluetooth headset now, and a program called Vitaero (http://www.vitaero.com). The program helps link the headset to Skype, so answer/hangup calls are possible, and it also saves battery and making connections completely automatic (no enabling or connecting devices, just turn it on!).

I was tired of being on string of my headset, so now I can walk around while using Skype, and my Nokia HS-54W has 250 hours standby and 10 hours talk time, whilst using the same charger as my Nokia phone. This is a great improvement of Skype usability!
