Attention Aircraft Maintenance Engineers

Quote from the article:

A Saturday Daily Telegraph report in April focused attention on security at the airport, forcing Qantas to confirm there was no screening of baggage carried in by airside staff such as baggage handlers, caterers, cleaners and maintenance crews. Airport insiders warned these transient and low-paid staff were the most likely to be involved in criminal activity.

Say's it all, doesn't it.
In the publics view, aircraft maintenance engineers are lowlife scum that are likely to engage in criminal activity!
Thanks for coming!
So much about our professional image!:yuk:

Could be referring to airport maintenance crews not aircraft engineers perhaps?

Well a bouquet to the Perth baggies from me.

After a less than thrilling experience with Perth security screening, which saw boots, watch and belt (small metal buckle) removed to get through, by the time I went to check the fuel quantity (ltrs to kg) I realised that the PocketPC was no longer in its home pocket.

Back to security, no PocketPC but asked by the helpful staff, several times, "have you checked your bags?"

Walking back to the aircraft, less than pleased at the aparrent loss and a baggie approached, asking if I was in "that" aircraft.

The PocketPC had fallen out during the walk-around.

So, thanks mate, who ever you are. :ok: :ok:
