:D Well i recon, rumour has it that we are getting :

25 B777-200LR's

15 B747-X

10 A350

Current orders for the for the "FLYING PIG" are in doubt after the delay in delivery, in close talks with Mr B at the moment with regard to the B747-X.

latest is that EK will announce no new orders at Le Bourget. The 350 order was widely expected and was reported to be 50-60 frames.
A 777 order of unknown quantity, but believed to include 772LR/772LRF and 773ER looks like being announced at the DXB airshow in November.

Todays Gulf News has an article where Emirates has announced that it will not make any new aircraft orders at the Paris airshow. Also having another look at the 787. Wonder if the 380 and 350 delay has anything to do with it?
Keep discovering!!!!!!!

I think 'longreach' is about as close to the money with his guess that anyone will get. The huge A350 order leaked to the press has the aroma of the 'definite' MD11 order rumours that did the rounds just prior to the announcement of the 777 purchase - ie, EK floats an Airbus buy to get Boeing's attention to squeeze the very best deal out of them. These guys are horse traders par excellence.

As for the delay to the 380's arrival. I'd be guessing that EK management are breathing a huge sigh of relief, (not that this will stop them slaping a damages claim on Aerboos' door), 'cos I'm sure they're as mystified as we line drivers are as to where they're going to find the pilots to crew the megaboos.

And the resignations continue... four more captains that I know of, all of them quite senior, in positions on the list but not in age.
