Bet taken but not enough to change the odds.

Where are you betting voters??

I bet it gets up and if it doesn't there will be further votes until it gets up. The result will only be accepted if it goes the way Q want.

Fordran that sounds like an each way bet.

What are you most likely to put your house on?

Surely someone has done the numbers between Heavy 'NO' voters, and Line 'YES' voters to come up with a sure bet!

Redstone

From what I've seen, read and heard over the last few weeks (and this is by no means a reflection on my stance) I would have to say odds of $1.50 for a yes vote represent a fantastic investment, I would put my house on it.

Surely someone has done the numbers between Heavy 'NO' voters, and Line 'YES' voters to come up with a sure bet!

The numbers will have to be between the Line and Base YES and No Voters.
ASk #1 super rep AP ("If you call him a scab I'll dob to management, and you can't get rid of me as a rep because you voted me in and Bruce wanted me") He's been doing the numbers so I am told with his side kick A LB.
They're hoping that from the rubble rise the ASHES and take power.

Forget this EBA the duds have made sure the company has a win. Why don't we start a new book. When the new Exec takes over they will be negotiating EBA VIII. What are the odds of EBA VIII being better than EBA VII?

Better: $1.05

Worse: $25.00

You can send your money to Melbourne.

The masked goatrider,
What makes you think that the new exec will be any better at negotiating than the old exec, or if in fact it will contain different people.

Just walked out of my office on the 3rd floor and had a chat to

quite a few engineers in H/M and Line. I must eat humble pie

because it seems there are many more engineers who will

vote 'against' than we thought.

I must change the odds to the following:

FOR: $3.50

AGAINST: $1.00

Continue with your bets gentlemen.

Happy Punting!:ok:

Just walked back into the office with the names of the engineers I just spoke to and will add them to my list.
Makes course selection, promotion selection and CR selection that little more easier.
I am also thinking of betting my yearly bonus on the 'FOR' vote with odds like that.

sys 4 I never knew you had an alias name on this forum!

Price updated due to enormous 'FOR' bet taken from anonymous punter.

FOR: $1.10

Where are you 'AGAINST' punters. I am struggling to find one.

Just walked out of my office again and the word is my name is

also on a list - The same as Mr Potato Head's if we can't find a

few extra suckers to vote for this EBA.

Please help me from getting my 'annulus filled' and vote for this

EBA.

Updated odds.

FOR: $4.10

AGAINST: $ 1.00

Really struggling to find the 'FOR' voters lately.

Redstone unfortuneately I have seen this all before. We vote it out, the company threatens to offers us less, we vote it back in.
In hindsight we should have excepted it the first time.

The biggest problem our association has is standing united. By reading this forum and listening to peoples opinions it is quite obvious we are split on the current EBA decision. And to be honest it is closer to right down the middle. The EBA issues are obviously not strong enough to hold a huge majority. I personally don't think we are going to gain anything if it is voted out by a small percentage. In fact the only hope I can see a 'NO' vote making any difference is if you see a win of around an 80% majority. Otherwise you are wasting your time.

Anus, your management colours stand out a mile, your constant negative view toward anyone having a go to what is fair is pathetic.

Put a real negotiation team that will seek correct advice and assistance, that will communicate with the members, that will not be intimidated or influenced by company retoric, that will act when action is needed, that will spend money to meet at venues not under control of the company or a place where the negotiation team does not have to endorse the offer to speak, that debate can take place without any gags.

Why are we allowing this to happen? If you vote yes because the negotiation team are so poor (and its not the first time) what are we condoning. When will the problem ever be fixed. The longer its left the worse it will get. Members are reponsible for the inaction of their representatives!

What did people do to achieve the conditions our hopeless lot is giving away. Apathetic and ignorant, is that what we are? :yuk:

It's gotta kick you in the goolies when grown men can't stand by their convictions,
when the going gets tough the tough go Yum Cha.
You're right AF it's 50/50 whether it'll get up, but there's a lot of membership anger out there as even the lowest paid got a 3.6% pay rise as awarded by the commission (7% was sought by ACTU as being fair).

My vote will be a NO as this EBA is not a fair exchange for the improved work practices put in place during last 18 months by all areas of the membership.

In fact it's pathetic. :yuk:

All calculations of future benefit assumes your salary growth is 4.5%.

Some food for thought.

Redstone

Certainly is Anulus. I think either way this will be a watershed for us and our union. The attitude I have observed by employers toward highly skilled employees in other industries over the last few years leads me to the conclusion that Qantas have no respect for us (or any other group under the Q banner for that matter). If we for once stop cowering, refuse to tug the forlock and stand toe to toe as equals, they might at least respect us. I think GD sees us as a bunch of sissies. As you say either way the vote goes, I hope it is a clear majority.
