Does anyone have any info on Air Botswana's ATR that suffered a nosewheel collapase Sunday afternoon in Gaberone?

All I know is the airfield was closed for a good number of hours forcing us to divert to Smuts.

Speaking to one of the cabin crew in Maun yesterday no one was hurt, but that particular aircraft had been suffering from landing gear problems and an ATR expert from France had worked on the aircraft and given it the go ahead to fly...

" but that particular aircraft had been suffering from landing gear problems and an ATR expert from France had worked on the aircraft and given it the go ahead to fly..."

Heres hoping the Pilot(s) document this thoroughly as in todays world an accident can be a mandatory career change..they follow you forever.

;) But do you not remember the occasion when one of the Air Bots Captains took an ATR, flew over Gabs for a while, whilst threatening to crash the aircraft into the presidential mansion and then returned to the field. He crashed his ATR into the remaining, parked, Air Botswana ATR fleet and wiped out the lot, including himself?:E

The statement said ATR42-500 plane - flight BP 204 - from Johannesburg to Gaborone had an undercarriage failure while taxiing after landing at the Sir Seretse Khama Airport at around 1pm. It was the same plane that had the landing gear problem last month while carrying a number of top officials from Johannesburg.

In last weekend’s incident, the aircraft is said to have departed to Johannesburg in the morning and “on the return flight the landing gear failed to retract after takeoff”. .........
