How are T&Cs, rosters, salary etc for Thonsonfly DECs?
Chance of commuting? How they would compare to Ryanair and long term prospectives?

Cheers!

How realistic is it that DEC will be taken?

Are contracts temporary? What about intern FO's - no upgrades?

Very, No, Yes plenty if you want it.

T&Cs excellent, shh don't mention the rosters at the moment (training is causing problems on the 737 at the moment), salary is now the same across all fleets - FO starts on 40K ish Capt on 60K ish basic. Depends where you want to commute from, couple of 75/76 pilots commute from France and Germany but you're only really looking at 2-3 days off between blocks of flying (4-6 days).

How does it compare to Ryanair? Never worked for them (Ryanair) but from what I hear.... better!

Somewhat perversely, just the other day, I had a copy of Thomsonfly's present T&C's placed in my drop file (not sure if it's a sublime message for me to bugger off or what ?... but, hey ho, it was an interesting read all the same ! ) and to wit, it said the following things:

Thomsonfly 737 Fleet

Annual pay scales ( with effect from 1st January 2005 ):

Captains PayPoint 6 = £71,588
PayPoint 5 = £70,379
PayPoint 4 = £69,172
PayPoint 3 = £67,693
PayPoint 2 = £66,895
PayPoint 1 = £65,816
PayPoint 0 = £63,379FO's PayPoint 6 = £47,364
PayPoint 5 = £46,149
PayPoint 4 = £44,939
PayPoint 3 = £43,720
PayPoint 2 = £42,510
PayPoint 1 = £41,294
PayPoint 0 = £40,080Non type-rated Captains & FO's will receive £2,000 less than stated above for first five years ( i.e. £10,000 towards type rating )

Training pilot annual emoluments £7,228 = LTC
£17,000 = TRE
£18,020 = TRI + TRE
£19,041 = TRI a/c + TRESector Pay: Captain £16.64 / FO £11.09

Hourly Allowance: Captain £2.85 / FO £2.71

Day-off working payment: Captain £524 per day / FO £358 per day

Pension: Seemingly made up of three parts: 1) Defined Contribution + 7% Employers Contribution + 8.25% Employees Contribution. Transfer into final salary scheme after 5 years.

Leave: 42 days per year ( bookable upto 1yr 10days in advance ).

Staff Travel: £25 for standby on charter flights. Nominal fee + taxes on B737 scheduled flights. Discounted holidays available.

Loss of License: 1.25 x pensionable pay.

They would appear to be recruiting the following: Training Captains (TRE or LTC) - Ideally type rated on the B737. A minimum of 3,500 hours flying time is essential, 2,500 of these hours must have been achieved on a jet aircraft and must have been in command for 500 of them.

Direct Entry Captains - Require a minimum of 3,500 hours flying experience, including command time; ideally 737 rated.

First Officers - Ideally B737 rated with line experience. A minimum of 1,500 hours flying time is essential which should include 500 hours jet time or 1000 hours turboprop time.See also Thomsonfly T&C's as reported on PPJN (http://www.ppjn.com/factfile.php?id=qga092axpwyhq736ev4zf4s7t71cx7q9hnxheyytfkvt ennk4f6) and Thompsonfly flightcrew recruitment web page (http://www.thomsonfly.com/en/company_221.html#flight)

Hi,Could someone elaborate on an average roster,ie how many days working, how many sectors, how many days off?

Obviously looking for approximations here?

Have flown 737s lomg time ago, have all the hours, but mainly on big boeings and airbuses as tre/tri,is it worth applying or do you need to be current on 737?Have been overseas, but time to come home.

Any input appreciated,QB
