On holiday in Greece recently, we flew into Thessaloniki and as we rolled along the runway, I noticed a couple of Do 27/28 parked up.

As they were parked facing me, I couldn't get a look at the tailplane and it was only later that I found that the key differences are at the tail.

I'm assuming that these were Hellenic Air force aircraft, has anyone any idea as to which specific type they might have been?

I actually think the main difference is --Do27 ONE engine,Do28 TWO engines! And if they were facing you, that must have been obvious!

I do understand that if twins, they could have been Do28D Skyservants, which are different to the basic Do28.

I did some research after posting and discovered they have the Do28D model, based at Elefsis. They don't have any 27s.
