Is this picture a fake?
I find it surprising that the airline-logo painted tail should go on an aircraft that will only be delivered some 18 months from now. What happens between now and then/
Or have SIA agreed it to be used for flight-testing, which I would find surprising, too.

I'm sure I saw the image a few weeks back, and it may have been in the SIA email newsletter...

Don`t they always paint the tail up first before it is fitted to the aircraft because it has to be balanced fefore it is fitted and that has to include the weight of the paint

G-I-B, if that's right then what happens when/if they re-paint it in a different livery some years down the line? Not suggesting that you're wrong of course, just curious!!

Its the rudder that must be balanced which is why you sometimes see aircraft on the boeing line with the airline colours on the rudder only. By painting the whole fin it just saves time later in matching the rudder and fin. SQ will i imagine be happy for airbus to flight test an aircraft in their colours its free publicity.

Heard on the radio at lunchtime that Airbus Ind are quoting 'an in-service delay of between 2 and 6 months for the delivery of their A380 jet arliner'

Does anyone know of a Flight Sim 2004 version of the A380 with the Singapore paint scheme?
