Sri Lankan Airlines is going thru turbulent times due to some members of the Union being radical and downright dirty.
They have stopped training of a contract pilot citing discrimination of the locals by the management. Lots of dirty mail is being circulated to discredit the Management but Emirates is sticking steady with the top management.
Emirates is behind the Management desicion and that hurts the Union....especially the president, vice president since they run for re-election next month.
A few pilots have called it quits, some instigators are also leaving for other airlines in the region, like SQ, Qatar and Etihad.(when the going gets tough, the rotten leave the rest). Contract pilots (expats) resigned from the Union as associate members since the Union was fleecing them for subs but not defending them at all.
Hope the management of these airlines watch out for these unscrupulous elements who couldn't stick it at UL and are now fleeing!!! Very capable of starting the same there......!
