I am not sure where to post this so I will put it here and see if it gets moved!

A group of mates and I want to fly a simulator. We know of the one near Biggin and Europeans facility at Bournemouth but I am having trouble getting in touch. Although we would not be using the sims for specific training requirements, i.e. we just want to have some fun, we are all serious pilots (a mix of PPL and ATPL) with a few JAR66 guys thrown in, a total of about 8.

Where would you all suggest? Are European at Bournemouth still hiring out their sims?

Any Ideas?

Many Thanks

I know, I've been tempted myself but I can't really justify £10 a minute!

You might be able to haggle a group discount, but it will probably still be too expensive.

How about contacting the sim operators that they use directly?
Alteon in Gatwick have 737NG, A320 and 757/767 simulators.

What kind of sim are you after? Expensive full motion or cheaper fixed base?

What would you like to do in it?

You could try GECAT (http://www.gecat.com/Interview_Familiarisation.asp)

I would like full motion but I understand that will cost. I am really looking for a good sim to do some general handling of a twin or tri jet.

You could try a trip to spain - Flight Training Europe at Jerez have an HS125-800 with part EFIS and a decent motion system. When I was there it was about 200 Euros per hour including instructor.

After the Trident sim went kaput (still is to my knowledge), cheapest and best i have used is the European 727.

Send a text to Dan Brownie on 07947 007 569. He flies for one of the major charter operators and does a bit on the sim in his spare time. He does a lot of sim check preparation and multi crew refresher type stuff.

Price is 150 per hour per crew no motion, a bit more with. it is a bit of a drive for him so he likes to do a good three or four hour stint but may be able to add you on to another session if you want a lesser go. you dont really need the motion to have fun IMHO!

enjoy!
