Hi guys & girls.

Does anyone have any info on the history, pay and employment requirements for Aerolineas Argentinas or any of their subsideries?

I am not from that part of the world so if any knows what sort of licence etc I will need, that would be cool too.

I did a search on Google but could only find their main website - no employment info.

Cheers

Viagra.

I would presume that you speak fluent Spanish.
You could try to search through:

www.lanacion.com

Where you would find the following article, copied below, in today's edition.
There may well be past articles on the airline in question.

Otherwise, since I would guess that many of Aerolineas Argentina's pilots come from the military; try having a chat with the Air Attache at the Argentine Embassy in London.

Claridges, my favourite London hotel, is almost next door. There it is possible to find a rather good tea or a restorative alcoholic sparkling alternative.

The article: written, I presume, by the newspaper's aviation correspondent who may be able to shed further light upon your enquiries:

well, first of all you have to revalidate all your licenses to the Argentinian ones.

Then you could aply, but it is a bit difficult if you dont have any "friend" in the company, unless you have a type rating in B737-200 (but even if you have one, that doesnt guarantee that you could be hired).

Nowadays they are not accepting applications for pilot.

Greeting from the very south of the world!!

MD-100, just out of curiosity, what licences do the Madrid-based Aerolineas MD crews hold?

I find it interesting that a south american airline bases a few short-haul jets at a european major airport to bring in feeder traffic.

Cheers

Probably some arrangement as a result of their investment by Iberia?

Re-heat: AR has nothing to do with Iberia (except for some debts). Owner of AR is Marsans Gruop, the owner of AirPlus (you can see the c/s of AirPlus very similar to AR)

FougaMagister: As far as I know the fly with the Argentinian licences (ICAO) because they operate an argentinian reg. aircraft (LV-) and they flight AR flights as a prolongation of EZE-MAD

As far as I know. They do not operate MD from/to Madrid. AR on their route EZE-MAD-EZE only operates B747 and sometimes if the need arises because a B747 is on maintenance, etc they do use an A340. All of those have Argentina regs and they fly under Argentina licences. As for the AirPlus they normally operate Airbus with JAR licenses (I believe they are Spain regs).

you are right, i meant e.g.: EZE-CDG, they flight a B747 EZE-MAD and the Mad Dog MAD-CDG.
