Well, its worked hasn't it!

If you responded, then you were tired. Now, patiently awaiting a response, you are keeping yourself awake. Mission accomplished I'd say.

Bloomin' heck, Buster, you're clever, I didn't think of that. I thought it was just a trawl for e-mail addresses to sell me viagra or help me enlarge my/someone else's .....

I reckon Whirly has sussed it.

I thought the strangest would have to be the Website for Obese House flies on which one could caulcate their pet flies Body Mass Index.
Used to be fly-bmi.com and often visited it when typing a particular airline's website wrong.

Michael Kuniavsky
Michael Kuniavsky has been making commercial Web sites since 1994. His specialty is in-depth user experience research and his accomplishments include interface designs for the first successful ecommerce site and the award-winning HotBot search engine. He created the Wired User Experience Laboratory and served as its chief investigator for two years. He has also worked as a Java programmer, commercial art director and Unix sysadmin. His work has appeared in many publications including ID Magazine, Wired, Step By Step Design, Inc., The Wall Street Journal, and the LA Times. His book on user experience research techniques will be published in 2002 by O'Reilly.

He's written a book (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1558609237/qid=/sr=/ref=cm_lm_asin/104-3945533-3659958?v=glance), too, and has a blog here (http://www.orangecone.com).

Seems like a bit of a net guru. But the blog don't betray what he's up to with tired.com

Update: one blog linking to, found via Technorati, says it's been around since 1994 - which I doubt because the domain was created in 1997. Del.icio.us doesn't help....but Google does.

Wow Steamy. Thanks for that.

And Plaz, dare you to link the strangest (Goatse has been shut down again, hasn't it?)

17th May 2005, 16:15
Easy when you know a couple of addresses to remember: http://www.dnsstuff.com has all the whois, ping, traceroute, spam database searches and such on one page, but sometimes the registrars get pissy because they can't show ads, in which case there's an excellent all-domains whois at whois.bw.org (http://whois.bw.org) .
