Another day, another round of tired Airbus bashing from 747Focal.:zzz:

14th May 2005, 09:26
Airbuses get tired?

This is worse than I thought! :uhoh:

14th May 2005, 10:44
It was a 707 without the hush kits disguised to look and sound like a 340... :E

I think that was German for "Not in my back yard"

I didn't know the 340 had a Donkey Dick

14th May 2005, 13:46
How about rent : how much they pay you to live there?

14th May 2005, 13:51
I love the smell of kerosene fumes in the morning... :}

A mate of mine lives in ealing. He says of the Heathrow noise groups, you bought a house near an airport. What did you expect?!!!

16th May 2005, 19:06
What all green party memebers want........ The airport to move away.

What all green party memebers want........ The airport to move away.

Indeed, but then of course these green party members would have to travel further to the airport to get to their meetings in which the same things are dicussed but nothing moves forward and so in turn is just causing more pollution!

I did see the tv program of which this clip was taken.
Its at Brussels airport the guy has lived there forever and is used to it!
He said it has one advantage ,he cant hear what his wife is saying!
He gets paid something like €100 per year for the approach lights on his property, lucky guy!

16th May 2005, 21:05
He can live with it, not so sure about the poor animals, see the chicken? scuttling about in the background, poor thang.:{

16th May 2005, 21:07
Onan,just to save you getting your head kicked in at a footie match or something similar,I think you will find he was Flemish(Dutch speaking Belge mate!) and wouldn't be surprised if that house was at the end of a R/W at Brussels secondary airport Zaaventem(after CRL thanks very much!)

17th May 2005, 03:11
he was FlemishMaybe he had just eaten some pudding.....

Burnt Fishtrousers

The only house in the area with tyre marks on the roof....

17th May 2005, 19:23
I reckon he is saying

"get the earplugs in, the next one should be a 747"

17th May 2005, 20:31
Even though the ole guy’s used to it, he still ducks for a second when she goes over.

…sod the chickens, I feel sorry for mother in law in the granny flat.

The A340 is quiet; its the engines that make all the noise.

You could try shutting them all down to see how quiet it gets. ;)

18th May 2005, 02:43

I understand your joke, but that is not the truth. Even with the engines all off a large airframe like that will still ring around 100 EPNdB. Almost a rock concert. :E

18th May 2005, 08:50
That depends where you're standing. :D

18th May 2005, 13:49
Almost a rock concert.

Maybe over in little ol' Seattle, 100db counts as a rock concert, but over here in good ol' Europe 115db is closer and Motorhead etc are closer to the 120db threshold of pain. Bearing in mind the scale is logarithmic the difference between 100 & 115 is huge - almost an airbus (100) 747 (115) :}

You could try shutting them all down to see how quiet it gets.

Are you kidding? You probably couldn't hear yourself think over the noise of nervous flatulence....

18th May 2005, 16:13

Seattle? Quiet rock concerts? Now thats funny. And FYI the 747 Series will ring right at 101.3 at full weight engines off approach. :p

Very few aircraft will be anywhere near the 65 dB noise floor even without engines so you will still hear them.
