Pardon the lack of knowledge, but
can anybody tell me about the ground handling available
at Kano? I am trying to organize a charter of 79,000kgs
of machinery from the States and it will require a Maindeck
aircraft. I know that MK have stopped off there in the past,
but is there a Maindeck loader available? and what are the
warehouse facilities available.

Thanks for the input.

Gunss??? Can you help on this

Hi,
There are to aviation handling coys operating at Kano Airport, and also at the international cargo section.
Check on www.nahcoltd.com and www. sahcol.com
Both are the two national companies operating at most nigerian airports.
If you need further assistance let me know as i live around the area.

Having operated in and out of KAN for several years I can recommend SAHCOL at any time - apart from having the better equipment they are also a lot more flexible then NAHCO. Cash for ad hoc operations is required for both companies but with some advanced correspondence SAHCOL is a lot more flexible when it comes to pricing. For the type aircraft and amount of cargo you are mentioning you are looking at handling charges from $ 4 K upwards.

I would also suggest to pre arrange for fuelling although fuel is in sufficient supply at the moment - for ad hoc flights Nigerian rules apply when it comes to pricing !!!

Hope this helps to save some bucks !:ok:

Tradewinds just started flying an African route last week. Contact them at [email protected], they might be able to help.
