LHR to CFU and Dubrovnik are for Tapestry Holidays

LHR to DLM and MAN to DLM are for Hidden Turkey

LHR to CAG and AJO are for Sardatur I think.

Thanks. Are the flights out of LHR just to avoid costs positioning the aircraft to LGW or STN? Any chance the bigger tour operators might take seats on these flights?

Someone else experimented with charters from LHR. Was it Air 2000 in the early 90's ?

bmi has been doing charters from LHR for years.

These BMI charters have been going on for years, winter and summer. They use marginal time in the aircraft programmes on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning (and a few overnights) when BD has more LHR slots and aircraft available than it can use for its normal destinations. The aircraft are the regular scheduled fleet rather than the charter-config ones BD use more permanently out of some provincial points. For many years some of the Heathrow flights were to oddball places on the north coast of Spain.

Strangely I've never seen any publicity by a travel company for any of these flights; their marketing must be very low-key.

I have regularly flown these charters for bmi in the past. They operate all through the summer months, usually for small specialist travel agents. A couple of the regular routes are Ajaccio & Volos, and always full.
I presume the responsibility to fill the flight rests with the agent, not bmi.

Hi

As above - Hidden Turkey are very very up market with a wonderful product - they have the BMI charter and sell it extremely well - they dont want to put pax on a AC with knees up to chin I think they have the right idea.

I also think Holiday options use BMI to Sardinia and Corsica - I may be wrong tho.

All I know is that it makes for a very interesting
weekend shift in Ops !
There certainly seems to be more this year
and, fingers crossed, everything tends to run reasonably smoothly
despite (or maybe inspite) of LHR not being a "charter airport ".
The downside is the Embraers operating on some of our schedule
rotations (downside, due to the capacity, of course !) ;)
