Hello Everyone.
I'm planning to relocate to Australia within a year.
What's the current job market for helicopter pilots in AU?
Thanks in advance
Marc

Maybe we'll let you work here if you let us work there?

Any ideas other than rude ones?

All you have to do is marry an American women, as I have married an Australian!
Thanks for your negativity, There's always someone around the globe!
By the way I know a few Australian who works in my country, and I do not have any problems at all!

Whoa back there, don't be so quick to interpret this as negativity. Wasn't the intention.

As for your suggestion I don't think child bride will be too impressed with that one!!

Good luck with your plan.

Mate,

Good luck with the relocation. I hope you like it over here.

You may wish to visit the website of our equivalent to the FAA, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority. I'm sure I speak for all pilots, planks and helos, when I say that some dealings with CASA are less than encouraging.

Visit their website at www.casa.gov.au and you'll be able to guage some of the potential obstacles you'll face, especially with regard to licences. ATPL in the US is far easier to obtain than here so you may have to do some more exams before you'll get a licence endorsed. (Other pilots may be able to shed more light on this for your benefit).

The RW market here has come a long LONG way in the last decade and a half, but it's always been my assumption that it was easier to get work in the US! Perhaps I'm wrong.

Good luck nonetheless.

PS, Has your wife managed to get you to enjoy vegemite yet?

I have checked the afap quite regularly, as i have a NZ and oz CPL(H), but i have not seen any jobs for mustering on there. I only have 150Hrs on the H300, but i have worked on an ozzie farm in a diffrent life, and i was raised on a cattle farm in the Uk, so anyone out there tell me what the chances of me getting work out there would be.
By having worked in OZ in the past, could i get another work visa?
Any replies greatfuly reicieved.

And i only whinge when iam not flying.;)
