How does it effect one's possibilities to get a job if one is barely able to pass the eyesight requirements of class 1 initial?
If you have a Class 1 you'll be fine. Unless you go for someone like BA who have their own medical, most just ask to see your med cert and that's it.
If you are about to embark on training for a commercial licence, you might still want to seek a specialist medical opinion. If it is marginal for the initial, it should be OK for renewal but if your eyesight deteriorates even more you may find yourself out of a job before you planned.
