I bought an iPod Shuffle a few weeks back and it is brilliant. however, this morning i went to update the Pod and my iTunes won't start. I have removed it and deleted it and reformatted everything and tried the website - nothing.........i'm running it on Windows XP (enough said, I know  )

It just gives me the hourglass and then nothing.......

Anyone had this before?

Cheers

You have to be carful with iTunes if you have your iPod set up for "auto-update". If you have files on your iPod that aren't in iTunes, they will be removed (Some Apple logic to stop illegal file copying).

Does the shuffle come with an iTunes install disk? And if so, did you up date it to the latest version?

(Probably better question for the Computing issues section)

Farrell, have you tried ipodlounge (http://forums.ipodlounge.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=50) ?
Well worth a read if you're a new owner.
I learnt lots from that site.

I've got a shuffle, and there's been a few times when the iTunes doesn't detect the iPod itself. Best thing to do is just leave it and maybe restart the PC. Never uninstalled it though as it always goes back to normal. Check to see if your USB port is ok.

good luck
