Just a word of encouragement for all us wannabes. Tomorrow I fly my first passenger airliner after giving up a well paid job four years ago to become a pilot. It has cost a fortune and driven my wife mad, I frequently felt like giving it all up and going back to the security of what I had. However, I kept at it and eventually it worked out, even at my age. So for those of you who can't see the light at the end of the tunnel just yet, stick with it and good luck.

Well done to you, many congratulations. There are many here who would love to know where you trained etc, integrated / modular, and what you did after training. Perhaps if you get some spare time you could let us know, as well as how you get on at the sharp end

Well done again!:ok:

Superb news there! I'm almost half your age yet I'm still wondering what the hell I'm doing. Thus your post is a welcome encouragement!

All the best!

Very Well Done ML.

Your tenacity has reaped its rewards.

I hope you enjoyed your first flight and that it lived up to your expectations. Being paid to fly the plane sure beats paying to be flown doesn't it?

For those that asked. Modular route - Ground school at OATs, CPL/IR at Aeros Staverton (fantastic school) and MCC with PARC in Dublin on the 737 200 (best money I have ever spent, I highly recommend this course). 1500 total hours most of it SEP instruction.

Just so others can be hopeful - any chance of knowing which lucky airline has you as a pilot?
