Hello People,

Has the western apron extension/stand re-assignment at Bristol been completed now? The NOTAM has disappeared, but theres no updated charts on the AIP.

Can anyone enlighten me?

Ok thanks.

All I need now is a chart! Gotten onto a BA pilot mate of mine to get me it lol. How many stands are there on the W apron now then? They still facing south?

I think its 9, but with some stands being like stand 4 as in left or right, No they don't all face south 2 nearest tower are nose to nose, biggest a/c on them is a319/737s, with 2 stands which face south next to them which are ok for a321s/757s, stand 27 is south faceing and the others i believe are west faceing, bit confusing, if you work at BIA then ASU will give you a stand plan if you go see them.:ok:

Okey dokey, is stand 27 for heavies then? For example the 763 on Friday...

I do work in BIA but only as a sales assistant....havent got my green pass yet as I havent handed the forms in, will they still give me a stand chart?

21 (E145) and 22 (737-300) facing south-east beside the fuel farm; 23, 24, 25, and 26 are as per 8, 9, 10 and 11 with max a/c size 737-700; 26N faces due north for the 767: 27 faces south-west max a/c size 757, then 61 and 62 are the two mail stands, push-back for the 146 and self-man. for the Emerald 748. 24 and 25 have south-west and south-east options 24L, 24R, 25L, and 25R, big enough for 757's. Mostly used for night-stoppers or long turn-rounds. :O

I see...the apron website shows those stands you said have L and R as W and E; ie 24E/W and 25E/W so Im a bit lost!

The rest of it is clear though! 21 and 22 in the same places as last time but facing a different way?

Hoping to get my hands on a chart asap! hehe.

Dan.

EDIT: Is this at all accurate? www.freewebs.com/southwestrts/bristolparking.jpg its there for Flight Simming purposes...would like as much accuracy as possible!

I looked at the live Eastern Apron website at eleven o'clock last night and there were only three of the sixteen stands on that apron not occupied.

From memory there was a BY 757, a MYT 320, a FCA 321, a XLA 734, a KM 320, 3 x easyJet 737-700s, 3 x BACx ERJ 145s, a KLM F 70 and a SN Brussels RJ 85.

Five overnighting easyJets had already landed (with two to come) so presumably two of the easyJets aleady in had parked on the Western Apron.

Is the future intention to create more stands in the area presently occupied by the old terminal/offices?

Not sure, think theres a possibility of knocking old terminal etc down and extending the W apron further, Im sure someone else can provide clearer information than I can!

MV, Last meeting i went to that was the plan, knock down old terminal in next few years, build a new office block somewhere and i believe staff car parking is being moved to Silver zone in very near future.

Also MV, whats the web address for the stand feeds?

Watabench...
If you mean the apron website then its apron.bristolairport.com and for the parking stands its apron.bristolairport.com/standsflash.asp.

BTW are you able to tell me if my attempted ground chart is at all accurate? <G>.

Stand 26A is designated as the 767 stand but... no tow bar for it was available last week, not sure if one has been found yet :ugh:
1 possible plan, I had considered was to park it off stand 25L & taking some of the surrounding stands out of use to allow it to taxy off.
Not been into work since it opened, as I am Tech at home :yuk:

By any chance, does this stand 26A go through 25 and 26 like the old 5A used to go through 5, 4 and 4A?

Wouldnt it have made more sense to make the 767 stand a self man. stand?

Sorry for any confusion 26A should read 26N thats what you get for following the paperwork, letter for letter from work which had a typing error :8
A big thanks to you all lot at work for reminding me of this

ATCO: the official stand plan has 24L and R, 25L and R. 24 and 25 E and W are not the stand designators, I think people use these abbreviations for east or west facing parking! It is confusing - personally I think everybody should use the same designators, surely this makes sense? There's no tow bar for the 767 (yet) although apparently Emerald have sent one for their 748! :E

Aye I worked that out eventually, slow me! No hope really!

Well its Friday, still no towbar? Couldnt organise a P***up in a brewery could they ;).
