Sorry the link is in Danish -
Svenske analytikere forventer et underskud på 800 mio. kr., når SAS offentliggør årets første kvartalsregnskab.

The Swedish news bureau TT quotes a 800 million kroner loss for the first quarter - 2005

SAS cannot carry on posting these losses - drastic action is needed or even "surgery".

Perhaps it is time to look at three national carriers ?

Edit to update link

As I been saying before, it´s just matter of time. No company can go ahead like that for long.

Back in the early nineties when Carlsson proclaimed "One of Five in Ninetyfive" I casually remarked "give it another 10 years and it'll be LufthanSAS". 95+10=05 ... However, perhaps the German coffers are currently empty, what with the recent purchase of Swiss. Rumours are also rampant that Austrian are deep in doo-doo and might be in need of an "anschluss".

I wonder what the EU would say should Lufty get their teutonic hands on Austrian and SAS, alongside Swiss.
