Yer it is true that GB have taken G-Busj, availible to be seen in a hanger at LGW anytime. Next aircraft an A321 arrives next month, and there are loads more on order.

As far as I know GLA is not going to happen, but who knows, BHe a better one to start I personaly think, but we will have to wait and see

G-BUSJ is almost twenty years old, I think (may even be older). Surprised that GT are taking on such an old aircraft.

G-BUSB and the other aircraft of the same vintage are still in the BA fleet - does anyone know why they have dispensed with SJ ahead of the older ones?

Just curious.

I think there is a danger of over-capacity at GLA, if GT decides to join the throng already occupied by easyJet, flyGlobespan, bmi baby, Air Scotland, etc, aside from the pure charter carriers.

We have leased BUSJ for one year to cover expansion. No GLA base ever been discussed as far as i know. MAN base up and running from mid May. Most of new a/c on order are to replace older 320's and 321.

For info, G-BUSJ was delivered to BA in August 1990 so approaching 15 yrs old. Oldest a/c G-BUSB was delivered in March 1988. I would guess that GB a/w requested a -200 model as it would perform better on their longer routes than the older -100s(BUSB-F) which are mainly used on shuttle and short european BA flights.
