Hi all,

What's the best piece of advice you have for learning to program in C++? Any particular method been helpful to you?

I have to do this, so no smart comments please like "don't do it".

Cheers!:8

Hey McAero

Not been funny but you may want to try asking on a dedicated C++/Win32 programming forum...

Programming questions don't get asked very often and i'm sure that the majority of people here are not from a programming background (I stand to be corrected on that and i apologise if it offends!! :ok: )

Some good C++ forums that buddies at work recommended!!

http://www.developer.be/forums/index.cfm/fuseaction/dsp_threads/forumid/16.htm

http://www.codeguru.com/forum/

or the good old Google Groups
http://groups.google.co.uk/groups?hl=en&lr=&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-51,GGLD:en&group=comp.lang.c%2B%2B

Best of luck in what you do!!

Cheers Zoink.

Appreciate it immensely! I have most of the required material but just looking for a good method of learning it, if that makes sense. :p

You would think they would've taught us this at Uni....

:suspect:

I thought that this book (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0321334876/qid=1114157831/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_11_1/026-1698792-1320407) was good.
