Rome-bound O'Leary dressed for the part
NEVER one to miss a photo opportunity, Ryanair supremo Michael O'Leary yesterday dressed up as a Cardinal to promote the airline's latest route.
Wearing a bright red Cardinal-style cape and cap in an effort to publicise the low cost airline's new service to Rome, the Ryanair boss made the airline's first scheduled service from Dublin to the Eternal City yesterday morning.
The carrier is flying directly from Dublin to Rome's Ciampino Airport and will be running a daily service.
Ryanair also started its new direct service from Dublin to Eindhoven in the Netherlands yesterday.
Speaking before he left Dublin the irrepressible O'Leary said:
"You don't need to be infallible to know that only Ryanair guarantees the lowest fares to Rome.
"Ryanair's new route means it's black smoke from now on for Aer Lingus's high prices".
Warming to his subject, he claimed it was nothing short of a miracle how Ryanair could fly from Dublin to Rome with fares that start as low as €16 plus taxes
