I don't remember this position being advertised. Out of over a thousand pilots they pick Gibbons? Amazing. Nepotism at its very best.

It does pay to marry indeed!
HOwever with an OBE for an FIL who will soon be probably cannonised for his mental gout, I doubt anything else could have been possible.
