I have been asked to say Grace for an upcoming lunch and have used all my decent ones in the past 18 months or so. I am sure with all the experience out there in JBLand, some of you must know of appropriate Graces. There will be wives and girlfriends in attendance, some of them filling both roles, so nothing untoward, please chums.

Thanks,

jf

For those that play with strange shaped balls.
Grace needn't be said in religious stalls.
Where ever you do, never shirk.
This feast is part of, greater work.

I've always found Burns' grace useful:

Some have meat and cannot eat,
Some cannot eat that want it:
But we have meat and we can eat,
So let the Lord be thankit.

Best delivered in broad Scots if you can do it.

1. Good food, good wine, good God.

2.
Oh Lord,
who turned good water into wine
Forgive us here, but mortal men
About to turn it back again

O Lord,
Forgive us our late tackles,
As we forgive those who lose possession against us.
And lead us not into offsides,
But deliver us from forward passes.
Thank you for this scrumptious lunch,
Amen.

We beseech you, Lord divine,
Who changed the water into wine,
Look down with grace on us poor men....
... who change the darned stuff back again!

Amen
