Hello, I'm sure this has been asked before and I've tried looking in the archives:

Is an FAA ATP recognised by Cathay? I'm sure it is an ICAO licence but thought I'd check. Also if they do accept that licence can you still be based in the Uk or Europe?

Thanks

I havent quite got the experience yet but thought I'd keep on dreaming!

They recognized my FAA ATP, just last week (and still waiting for the results).

But I think that you can get an FAA ATP with the restriction "Holder Does Not Meet ICAO PIC Req.", and that may not be recognized.

Mayday.

I went through this as well. Many people think that the FAA is not ICAO, but they are confusing ICAO with a Euro. License. ICAO is a U.N. organization and was established in CHICAGO.
