Hi Folks,
My friend has just been offered a cabin crew position with Bmi and is delighted. Starting her course in about 2 weeks. She is prepared to work hard and give up her social life for a while, oh yes and be as flexible as required when it comes to roster changes.
Does anyone have any advise for her? (Lots of positive things please)
Thanks in anticipation,
D

Hey there, congrats to your friend for getting the job. It's not easy to get in to bmi. I used to work there and although there are lots of negative issues there are some positive too.

1)Crew are fantastic
2)Money isn't too bad (you work for it though)
3)When you night stop, you'll have fun
4)leave is quite good too. You use 7 days leave but get 9 days off.
5)Concesions are good too

Your friend will sure need to be flexible and must be prepared to a lot of roster changes. Being change from late to early the day before is unfortunatelly very common.

Most crew are nice and friendly. Money is not that bad but as it has been said you do work for it. Night stops are now numbered. The further away she will be night stopping will be Aberdeen.

The good night stops are definitely AMS and BRU.

The big problem at BMI is management, useless and not always fair.

Concessions are not good. Promotion is easy and fast (for number one) but still very difficult for long haul.

BMI is great as a stepping stone but hardly as a career.

All standard stuff for short haul then,
